Architectural Restoration Program was established within the Architecture and Urban Planning Department.

PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM

The aim of the Architectural Restoration Program is to design and implement architectural projects, monuments and monumental buildings, to prepare surveys, restitution proposals, restoration / reconstruction projects, is equipped with sufficient knowledge and equipment to train art and technical personnel. The language of instruction of this program is Turkish.

CONTENT OF THE PROGRAM

The Architectural Restoration Program is a pre-graduate program which aims to keep the restoration work of the old historical buildings in our country in accordance with the world standards and to bring them to a new and original situation. In line with this purpose, it is aimed to make the restoration of these cultural and movable cultural assets, which are our cultural heritage, in accordance with the original, and to pay attention to the necessary documentation and to prevent the irreversible destruction of our cultural heritage.

In the restoration program, which is given by theoretical and applied education, students; concepts of conservation, restoration and conservation; wood and masonry material properties, construction technology and construction; basic technical drawing rules and technical drawing skills in computer; traditional building types, the concepts of traditional structural elements, all structural and non-bearing structural elements and components and their function, material and form properties; demolition of traditional structures and structural elements, analysis, determination of the current situation and drawing of restoration and restitution projects; to gain basic knowledge about traditional handicrafts; they are trained in the acquisition of the inventories of historical monuments and methods of taking advantage of the photographs in their surveys and gaining the theory and skills that can work in restoration laboratories.

Anyone who wants to study in the Architectural Restoration program is expected to have a superior sense of color and shape, the power to use their fingers and hands skillfully and aesthetically, and those who enjoy working in the fine arts and working outdoors.

WORKING PLACES

Architectural Restoration Program '' Restoration Technician '' title is given to those who finish. In the near future, our students will be given m Conservator asyon positions in museums in the near future. In addition, there is no interregional difference and gender discrimination in finding employment. Students who receive this title;

EXAMPLES

Students who are graduated from vocational and technical secondary education institutions are placed in their vocational and technical education zone (METEB), and then in the vocational high school pre-license programs without any exams. Transactions are carried out with OSYM central system. (YGS5)
